Ananda Marga Gurukula Teachers' Training College operates under the values and vision of the Ananda Marga movement, which was founded in 1955 by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. While serving as a railway official, Sarkar established Ananda Marga (“Path of Bliss”) with a dual mission: spiritual progress and social transformation.
He began training missionaries to spread the core philosophy of “Self-realization and Service to Humanity,” a vision that soon expanded across India and around the globe. Inspired by a universal outlook, Ananda Marga evolved into a comprehensive organization with dedicated wings working in:

In 1963, Sarkar launched the Education, Relief, and Welfare Section (ERAWS), which manages a global network of schools, orphanages, medical clinics, old-age homes, free kitchens, rehabilitation centers, and shelters for women.
Ananda Marga’s humanitarian wing, the Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT), has delivered emergency aid during natural and man-made disasters including fires, floods, earthquakes, and conflicts. AMURT has been recognized by numerous organizations, including the United Nations, the Red Cross, and various national governments for its effective and compassionate service
